On March 8th, 2019 International Women’s Day ( #IWD2019 ), Women in AI in the Netherlands organized a unique event – WaiTIME “The Underestimated Power of a Woman in AI”. We didn’t dive too deep into the future of tech or biases, we shared something more powerful – the stories of women from across Europe who started their own businesses in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
This event on April 17th, 2020, featured on tis digital "stage" one of the outstanding COVID-19 frontline doctors in the Netherlands, purpose-driven international AI experts and extraordinary activists who keep on innovating in search of a solution. The session covered the outcomes of coronavirus, its impact on health and the discoveries made by AI; the roadmap towards more sustainable and healthy future; and some of the innovative technology Use Cases that have saved lives of many.
So what is AI for Good? And what are ways in which AI can be used to address the UN Global Sustainable Development Goals? At the event, participants explored different AI applications where it successfully tackles socio-economic challenges (e.g. medicine, healthcare, international aid etc.), as well as discussed others where it has yet to overcome challenges and limitations (e.g. psychology)

As well as, the insights on how to build the required future-proofing skills to stay relevant and in demand. Moderator: Eve Logunova.
Already a key player in driving digital transformation, chatbots and digital assistants are increasingly becoming the natural choice to scale up distribution of information and support, during the coronavirus crisis. I’ve met Eve through Women in AI and I’m a fan! She is such an am-AI-zing driving force who knows everyone and gets things done! Being a continuous learner herself, she willingly shares her knowledge to support others in their learning journey. What inspires me the most is how in 2 years she managed to build a rapidly growing diverse & inclusive community network of AI women both in the Netherlands and globally. Also, how she makes everyone feel special and welcome, the equitable culture that she builds, her excellent skills to build a brand, deliver unique content and engage stakeholders at any level to join her in her impact-driven mission.
